How the BTS song sorter works
The sorter uses merge sort, the same method a computer uses to order a list. It splits the songs into small groups, asks you to compare them two at a time, and merges the winners until every song has a place. Because it never asks the same pair twice, it needs far fewer picks than comparing every pair:
- A single album (8–15 songs): about 20–45 picks.
- All 49 title tracks and singles: about 200–250 picks.
- Every song: well over 1,000 picks, so save that one for a long night.
Made a mistake? "Undo last pick" takes back your last choice. Your top 20 is saved in this browser after you finish. Nothing is uploaded.
Tips for a better ranking
- Go with your first reaction. If two songs feel equal, pick the one you would play next.
- Start with one album or with the title tracks, then sort your favorite era in more depth.
- Don't know a song? Look it up in the BTS song list, or try the random song generator to find new ones.
FAQ
Which songs are in the sorter?
All 200 songs from the BTS song list, grouped into title tracks, albums, eras, solo and unit songs, and Japanese originals. Remixes and Japanese versions of Korean songs are left out, so no song shows up twice.
Can I share my ranking?
Yes. When you finish, press "Copy my top 10" and paste it anywhere.
Are members' solo songs included?
Only the solo tracks released on BTS albums, such as "Lie", "Stigma", "Euphoria", "Epiphany" and "Inner Child". Songs from the members' own solo albums are not BTS releases, so they are not included.
